In 2026, the Collection of Art Brut celebrates its 50th anniversary and invites you to discover a rich and unprecedented program. On this occasion, the museum becomes the stage for major cultural events: exhibitions, performances, concerts, screenings and meetings. From February 28, 2026, until September 27, the anniversary exhibition Art Brut in Switzerland. From the origins of the collection to the Present retraces the fascinating history of the link between Jean Dubuffet and Switzerland, the country to which he entrusted his artistic treasure in 1971.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Collection of Art Brut is offering a rich program of events alongside its anniversary exhibition “Art Brut in Switzerland – From the Origins of the Collection to the Present” (28 February – 27 September 2026).

The exhibition Art Brut in Switzerland – From the Origins of the Collection to the Present celebrates 50 years of creativity and artistic freedom, bringing together little-known masterpieces and fascinating stories, in the very place where Switzerland saw the birth of a new artistic concept : Art Brut. The exhibition presents a selection of more than 300 works—drawings, paintings, sculptures, embroideries, writings, and assemblages—all drawn from the collections of the Lausanne museum and created by Swiss artists or by artists who worked in Switzerland.
